CLIMATE & COMMUNITY RESILIENCE
Climate-Resilient Livestock & Pastoral Support
Dervish Youth Representative Umbrella (DEYR) supports pastoral and agro-pastoral communities by strengthening climate-resilient livestock systems. Our work focuses on protecting livestock as a primary livelihood asset through drought preparedness, improved water access, animal health awareness, and sustainable herd and feeding practices. These interventions help reduce losses during climate shocks, protect household incomes, and enhance food security for vulnerable communities
Sustainable Natural Resource & Rangeland Management
DEYR promotes sustainable management of rangelands, water resources, and the environment through community-led planning and youth-driven environmental action. By addressing land degradation, overgrazing, and environmental stress, we support the restoration of grazing areas and protection of natural resources essential for livestock and community livelihoods. This approach strengthens environmental sustainability and long-term productivity.
Community Resilience, Early Recovery & Livelihood Diversification
DEYR strengthens community resilience by linking climate action with early recovery and diversified livelihood opportunities. Through resilience planning, skills development, and alternative income support, communities are better equipped to withstand climate shocks, recover faster from crises, and reduce over-reliance on livestock alone—building a more adaptive, stable, and resilient future.
