Community Assessments & Emergency Food Distribution in Action
DEYR carried out this intervention with integrity, transparency, and a strong sense of humanitarian responsibility. Our teams conducted comprehensive, field-based assessments in drought-affected areas to accurately identify the most vulnerable households. Based on these findings, we implemented timely food distribution to families in need—ensuring fairness, accountability, and respect for community dignity throughout the process.
DEYR 3rd Annual Youth Conference: Uniting Voices, Shaping the Future
DEYR successfully organized its 3rd Annual Conference, a two-day landmark gathering that brought together 27 youth organizations representing all districts and communities of North Eastern regions. The conference served as a unifying platform for youth leaders to engage in capacity-building trainings, open dialogue, and strategic discussions focused on shared priorities and collective action.
Over the course of two days, participants exchanged experiences, strengthened coordination among member organizations, and jointly reflected on the role of youth in peacebuilding, governance, and sustainable community development. The conference concluded with a renewed commitment to unity, collaboration, and a shared vision for empowering youth and strengthening communities across North Eastern Somalia.
Commemorating National & Youth Action for Greener and Cleaner Cities
DEYR actively organizes and participates in the commemoration of key national and international days, transforming them into moments of youth-led action and public engagement. These initiatives include urban greening campaigns across North Eastern cities, national flag celebrations, community painting and beautification activities, and public cleanliness and sanitation drives.
Through these events, DEYR mobilizes youth to promote civic pride, environmental responsibility, and social cohesion—turning symbolic days into practical actions that strengthen community awareness, unity, and sustainable urban development.
